“ (...) Martin and Elisabeth Boesch have been in practice together since 1982. Based in Zurich, they have worked in Switzerland, Germany, Japan and Hong Kong. Among their most significant projects are the renovation of Villa Rainhof in Zurich and the restructuring and extension of the Kurtheater in Baden.

They have developed a contemporary approach to re-use based on an appreciation of existing buildings and “as found” conditions. Illustrated in the book Yellowred, their pursuit of an equilibrium between old and new was the focus of an exhibition at the Biennale di Architettura in Venice in 2018. Martin has championed this approach at EPF Lausanne, ETH Zurich, HfbK and HCU Hamburg, and currently teaches at the Accademia di Architettura in Mendrisio. Elisabeth has served on the townscape commissions of many Swiss cities and is a member of the Heritage Protection Commission of the Canton of Zurich. (...)”
